Is back pain stopping you from enjoying your activities?

We can help! At KJP we have over 30 years experience of helping patients with back pain.

Modern life can cause all sorts of back pain – whether it is from sitting for long periods at your desk or in the car – or from picking something up and moving awkwardly. If you find that your back pain is not settling or is worsening over a period of 2-3 weeks, and is stopping you from doing your normal activities, give us a call on (0117) 330 6820 and book in with one of our Musculoskeletal (MSK) Physiotherapists.

Physiotherapists are specialists in the care of lower back pain and will be able to offer sensible advice and treatment, tailored to your needs and based on the best evidence we have. Our Physios will do a full and thorough assessment:

  • taking a detailed history of your pain,
  • details about your medical and family history of back pain

They will then do a physical assessment to see how you move and how your muscles, nerves and joints are working. They will discuss with you the options available, and the best treatment programme that fits your needs. This may include a range of options such as:

  • a home exercise programme for strength and mobility
  • advice on pain management
  • manual (hands-on) treatment

Your physiotherapist will monitor your progress with the treatment plan, and help to you get back to your normal daily life. So don’t miss out on the things you love doing. Book yourself in for an appointment and our experienced Physios will  have you back on track before you know it.

Farewell to Lynne!

We are very sad to announce the retirement of our wonderful acupuncturist Lynne Pretty who has been working at Keith James Physiotherapy for over 13 years now.

Lynne and her father Tony Evans have operated for close to 40 years in Westbury Park, but when Lynn’s father Tony retired, Lynne joined the KJP team and has been a valued colleague for over a decade.

In the past year Lynne has become a grandmother and has decided to hang up her needles to spend more time on grandparent duties.

She will be sadly missed by the many thousands of patients she has seen over the years. We wish Lynn well in her retirement and thank her for her friendship over the past 13 years.

Our new Clifton clinic is now OPEN!

Keith James Physiotherapy has expanded! In addition to our well-known Westbury Park clinic on Coldharbour Road, we now have a satellite clinic in the Clifton Triangle area of the city, near to Whiteladies Road, Park Street and Clifton Village.

Our new clinic is in the heart of one of Bristol’s busy districts, with many shops, work places and restaurants nearby. Located on the first floor of 77A Queen’s Road, our clinic can be found just above Goatman & Batham Opticians. Here you can find the same expert physiotherapy that Keith James Physiotherapy has become well known for in it’s 30 years at our Westbury Park Clinic, delivered by Associate Physiotherapists from from the Coldharbour Road clinic. Focussing mainly on MSK Physiotherapy, we offer initial and follow-up appointments to deal with a wide range of aches, pains and injuries. To book, please call (0117) 330 6820 or click HERE to book online.

Please note that this clinic is accessed via stairs. If you are unable to use stairs, please book an appointment at our Westbury Park clinic (where we have a Downstairs treatment room and Stairlift).

Appointment of Senior Associates at KJP

We are pleased to announce the appointment of Gareth Crankshaw and Sara Ayala as Senior Associates at Keith James Physiotherapy.

Since joining the practice, both Gareth and Sara have clearly demonstrated their commitment to the practice and their qualities as expert clinicians, and this has been recognised in the decision to promote them both to the position of Senior Associate. This acknowledgement is just reward for their high calibre of diagnosis, treatment, loyalty and work ethic.

Well done Sara and Gareth!

Welcome to new physio Camryn Cilliers

Keith James Physiotherapy is delighted to welcome our new Physiotherapist, Camryn Cilliers. She will be providing physiotherapy in the following areas: Musculoskeletal and Sport Injuries, Orthopaedics and Post Surgery Rehabilitation.

Camryn graduated from Stellenbosch University in South Africa. She started running competitively from a very young age, which is where her love for movement and physiotherapy came from.

With a passion for musculoskeletal and sport injuries, she has completed certified courses in dryneedling, Pilates matwork and the LYNO® method, which identifies and removes fascial restrictions. She also loves to identify and treat common running errors.

Before moving to Bristol, she worked in Stellenbosch at a private musculoskeletal physiotherapy practice based at one of the top schools in South Africa, where she gained valuable experience working with elite athletes and sport teams.

Camryn loves being outdoors and active so she spends most of her free time running, cycling or hiking.

If you would like to book an appointment with Camryn, just give us a call on (0117) 330 6820 or book online on our website.

Agnès is moving on to a new role

It is with equal measures of sadness and delight that we will soon be saying ‘goodbye’ to Agnès Canadell as she prepares for a new role. Agnes is expecting a little baby girl in mid-May and will be leaving KJP at the end of February in order to prepare her nest.

Although she has only been with us for a short time, Agnes has become a very popular member of the KJP team and has been a valuable asset to the practice.

We wish her well on her next great journey.

Farewell to Zaheer!

We are very sad to say farewell to physiotherapist Zaheer Hussain, who has been with us at KJP for the past 12 months. He initially came in to cover maternity leave for Sara Ayala and became such a popular member of the team with staff and patients alike, he stayed on for an extra few months.

However, growing up in Stockport, with family and commitments up north, Zaheer has made the long journey back up the M6.

A thoroughly good and decent chap, an excellent clinician, and really good company. Zaheer will be missed, and we wish him well for the future.
